On April 2, 2024, a delegation from the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) composed of Prof. François Mabille, Secretary General and Dr. Montserrat Alom, CIRAD Director, visited Pazmany Peter Catholic University (PPKE) in Budapest, Hungary.

The delegation had the opportunity to meet Rector Rev. Mons. Dr. Géza Kuminetz, alongside Vice-Rector Rev. Dr. Krisztián Vincze and Dr. Bence Akos Tamassy, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Affairs.

The parties reviewed the challenges that Catholic universities have to face and future opportunities for cooperation, with an emphasis on publications. They also reviewed the Federation’s international research groups in several fields, including peace and security studies, memory and identity, as well as artificial intelligence and the social teaching of the Church. As a result of the meeting, in the near future, Pazmany Peter Catholic University will, among others, be presented to IFCU member universities in a webinar.

IFCU is grateful to PPKE’s authorities for their welcome and rich exchange during the visit.
